Atlanta Braves’ Spencer Strider, 25, has overcome his first major league slump.

Strider pitched seven innings of 메이저놀이터 three-hit ball (one home run) with two walks and 10 strikeouts in a one-run win over the Minnesota Twins on Sunday (Sept. 27) at Truiste Park in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

Strider, who is developing into a major league ace with his strikeout prowess, is 9-2 with a 3.73 ERA in 16 games (91⅔ innings) this season. However, he struggled in June, posting a 6.86 ERA in four starts (21 innings).

According to, “Strider pitched quickly and effectively. He went seven strong innings, showing that he’s completely over his first slump since becoming a big leaguer. He looked a little shaky early in the game, stranding two runners in the first inning and giving up a solo home run in the second. But after that, he silenced the Minnesota bats,” said Strider.

Strider threw 100 pitches on the night. He threw a four-seam (54 pitches), slider (32 pitches), and changeup (14 pitches), with the four-seam reaching 99.5 miles per hour (160.1 km/h). His slider had a whopping 79% swinging strike rate, and he struck out a lot of batters. wrote, “Strider allowed just one run on two walks and three hits, while striking out 10. It was his fifth double-digit strikeout game of the year. It’s also the 11th of his short career. He leads the majors in strikeouts this season (146),” said Strider.

On overcoming his slump, Strider said, “I’ve gotten to a point in the season where I’m a little more comfortable and a little more natural. Hopefully, that will help me get back on the right track if I have a bad game,” he said, adding that he’s looking forward to the rest of the season.
