“I’m honored to be in the center of it all.”

With the sweep of SSG, KIA extended its winning streak to eight games. This is the first time KIA has won eight straight games since winning eight in a row from July 1 to August 13, 2021. The streak lasted 751 days.

After the game, Kim said, “I heard that (the eight-game winning streak) has been a long time coming, and I’m so honored to be at the center of it. I feel like I’m just giving it my all every game.”

Kim homered off Lee in the top of the ninth inning. He drove a 148-kilometer/h fastball over the right field fence. ”With a precarious one-run lead in the top of the ninth inning, Kim Do-young’s one-run home run extended our winning streak,” said Kim Jong-kook. After confirming her home run, Kim roared and performed a ceremony.

“It’s my first time (doing a ceremony). I think I got rid of a lot of frustration when I was having a bad game,” Kim said.

Kim has been strong at SSG Landers Field. This season, he’s batting .517 with a 1.462 OPS, including 15 doubles, three home runs, seven RBIs, and 13 runs scored. All of his home runs this season have come in Incheon.

“It’s not that I can see the ball better here or anything like that, it’s just that I feel comfortable playing here,” Kim said, adding, “I feel like I can play comfortably.”

KIA has won eight straight games, knocking the NC Dinos out of fourth place. They are 1.5 games behind third-place SSG. Kim said, “Our team’s hitting is ‘good. It’s working,’ so I think we can do it confidently,” Kim said. “I think that’s why we’re getting good results. The momentum seems to be really scary.”
