The Pittsburgh Pirates lost 0-11 at home to the Cleveland Guardians at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on the 18th (Korea Standard Time). The loss resulted in 41 wins and 53 losses. Cleveland is 46-48.
Choi Ji-man, who was excluded 메이저놀이터 from the starting lineup, was put in as the first baseman in place of Carlos Santana in the top of the eighth inning, when his team was far behind 0-9. In the bottom of the ninth inning, he faced Immanuel Classe as the leadoff hitter, but struck out swinging.
A total of six rookie players started Pittsburgh on the day, including starting pitcher Queen Frister and catcher Andy Rodriguez. They were right fielder Henry Davis, third baseman Jared Triolo, second baseman Nick Gonzalez and shortstop Reover Peguero.
I fought back with the “power of youth,” but the limits were clear. The starter Priest showed his potential by turning all nine batters into hits until the third inning, but later collapsed by allowing long hits.
Starting with a two-run home run by Ahmed Rosario at first base with no outs in the fourth inning, Bonaylor allowed a double to right field in the fifth inning with two outs, Jose Ramirez and Josh Naylor at first base with no outs, and Andres Jimenez allowed seven runs in an instant.
He scored 7 hits, 2 home runs, 2 walks, 2 strikeouts, and 7 runs in 5 1/3 innings, giving the big league a hard taste.
The bullpen also collapsed. Johan Ramirez allowed Josh Naylor a two-run home run in the seventh inning, and Dauri Moreta allowed Stephen Kwan a hit in the eighth inning with one out and runners on second and third.
Yeri DeLos Santos, who took the mound in the ninth inning, allowed an infield hit and lost a point after being driven to the bases with two doubles and consecutive walks. First baseman Choi Ji-man blew up Miles Straw’s ball, but there was not enough time to connect to the first base with an out. He caused anger by allowing a walk even though he reversed the catcher’s interference with a video replay at Josh Bell’s at-bat with one out and runners on first and second base.
In the meantime, Pittsburgh’s batters have not been able to properly cope with opposing pitchers that change from time to time. Andrew McCutchin in the first inning and Gonzalez in the fifth inning hit a double, but it became a left base. Rodriguez, who made his debut on the same day, had to postpone his first hit in the big leagues to the next opportunity, with no hits in four at-bats.
It wasn’t just the rookie players’ fault. The batting line overall was sluggish. He had no hits in six at-bats and seven remaining bases in the scoring range.
Conversely, it was a victory for the Cleveland bullpen. Starting with the first runner, Xjabian Curry, who pitched three innings with one hit, one walk, two strikeouts, and no runs, five bullpen pitchers continued to throw, blocking the Pittsburgh lineup. Closer Klase took the mound in the ninth inning and finished the game to maintain his sense despite a big score difference.
